In older Nuova Simonelli equipment, this is used to connect the boiler safety valve (S_55) on one end, then an adapter fitting (S_299) threads into it and the anti-siphon valve (W_517) threads into that. In Victoria Arduino equipment it is installed below the sight glass assembly.
